Where Is I-11, Islamabad Located ?

I-11 sits on the southwestern edge of Islamabad, bordering Rawalpindi to the south and neighbouring I-10 and I-12, with H-10, H-11, and H-12 adjacent as well. It’s a lightly built area even today, with a distinct character shaped by wholesale trade as much as residential housing.

I-11 Islamabad's Development History

CDA established I-11 in 1985, specifically to serve residents in the lower-income bracket. The land, along with neighbouring I-10 and I-12, was formerly a village called Bokra — a road in I-12 still commemorates the old village name. CDA has since taken possession of land from illegal encroachers and land grabbers, with development work ongoing to hand plots back to their rightful owners, and compensation was paid to people displaced by the sector’s development.

I-11/1 holds the sector’s smaller plots, while I-11/2 has comparatively larger residential plots. I-11/3 was specifically demarcated as a wholesale market site for cloth, shoes, grain, and timber, with two large plots reserved for state-of-the-art Cash & Carry establishments. I-11/4 is home to Sabzi Mandi, a wholesale Fruits & Vegetable Market, along with the Sabzi Mandi Police Station, which has jurisdiction over I-11, I-12, I-10, and the adjacent stretch of IJP Road.

Markets in I-11 Islamabad

Sabzi Mandi (I-11/4) is Islamabad’s main wholesale fruit and vegetable market, and I-11/3 is the designated wholesale hub for cloth, shoes, grain, and timber — giving I-11 a genuinely different commercial character from most other CDA sectors, closer to a trade and logistics hub than a typical residential Markaz.

Utilities in I-11 Islamabad

Electricity, water, and sewerage: available in developed residential blocks, though CDA’s clearance of encroachers and land grabbers means possession status can still vary by plot — confirm before purchasing.
